Re-paint that old Stool

So many times I’ve said, “I need to go and buy another…” Well the other day I said these very words about buying another stool. I gave the stool a second look and decided, why throw a sturdy stool away when I can just spray paint it; and I did just that. I’m glad that I didn’t go and waste money on purchasing something that I didn’t need. There are times when we can’t look pass the now and see what it can be. Before we throw out something that is worn but useable, give it a second look.

I’ve used this stool in my kitchen for places that I couldn’t reach. Recently I used it for re-decorating my kitchen and it really got a beating. So since it was so useful and helpful it deserves a makeover.

I taped all the hardware…

I used a x-acto knife to trim the excess tape…

before spray painting I painted the stool with primer.

What a great makeover! A beautiful spot of color for your kitchen, too! Just stopping by from the GRAND Social Linky Party and it would be great if you would do the same!

  4. Thanks Kc, I would love to visit your site!

  5. Beautiful! I have a couple similar stools that I always felt would be too much hassle, considering the hardware. Hadn’t considered an X-acto knife for help. Thank you so much for the hint…and for sharing in the GRAND Social. Such a pleasure to meet you.

    • Thank you Lisa! So glad that you visited, one reason I’m glad is because Kc came via Grand Social and I couldn’t figure out which Blog Social she came from…glad you had Grandma’s Briefs connected to your name, now I know where to go and make a visit.

I love your “new” stool! And I love that you painted it red! I have a vintage kitchen with many red things! That stool would fit right in! Found you at Lisa’s GRAND Social!

  7. Vicki Valenta says:

I love that stool and you did a great job refinishing it. I would love to have one exactly like it. At 5’1″ a stool is a necessity.

Stopping in from the GRAND Social.
