There are so many things that can be created with burlap. I saved some left over tissue boxes I used during the Christmas holidays (not knowing what I wanted to do with them). While I was moving items in my new craft room, I came across some burlap I had bought some time ago. Browsing through the web, I came across where someone (can’t remember what site) had used burlap to decorate a can. So, I decided to take the burlap I had and used the tissue box to decorate. It’s a fun and easy project to do; and it’s useful. I first cut the top off, next I hot glued padding around the box.
I cut the burlap about an inch taller than the tissue box, make sure that it’s even from the bottom and that the extra material is at the top so it can be glued down inside the box. Glue burlap on.
Take what you like to decorate the outside of the box. I used raffia and wooden beads to decorate. This is a pretty, quick, easy and very useful project that can be done in less than 30 minutes. I use this in my craft room to hold odds and ends.
