It’s that time of the year again; state fairs, hay rides, pumpkins, cool mornings and falling leaves. Oh and let’s not forget caramel and candied apples. I love this time of the year!
I’m an avid pinner on Pinterest and I saw these cute little mini caramel apples and decided to try making them.
The first time I tried making these, it was a disaster! I made my apple balls and placed them in lemon juice so they wouldn’t turn brown while I melted the caramel. I dipped the apples in the melted caramel and placed them on a tray. After dipping the apples I coated them with crushed nuts. While I was coating the caramel apples with the nuts the caramel began to just slide off the apples. It was so frustrating. I just gave up, but I really wanted to create these little cuties.
The next day my daughter brought home some caramel apple wraps and I tried it again…and it worked!!!! She saved the day!
Supplies:
granny apples
round 2″ cookie cutter
melon scooper
caramel wraps
large toothpicks
crushed nuts
After scooping the apple balls, cut out the caramel using the round cookie cutter
Before and after the caramel is applied
I used about 4 apples to make this tray of caramel apples
Roll the apples in a bowl of nuts (pecans).
Yum Yum!!! It’s just that easy!
These little cuties are perfect for your Fall party.
