I’ve had these little canvas bags around about a year. When I purchased them (bought them for about fifty cents a piece) I really didn’t know what I would do with them. Since I’ve been crocheting none stop for a couple of months, I decided to decorate the canvas pouch with crochet flowers, and was pleasantly pleased with the finished product.
I’ll share with you how I put it together. If you ever come across any canvas bags for a deal, buy them and apply crochet flowers to them and you will have a great gift to give out for special occasions.
Supplies:
Yarn Schachenmayr “Catania”
Crochet hook size 00
Cotton fabric for lining
Canvas bag
thread, needle and scissors (everything was hand sewn)
Crochet the leaves and flowers onto the canvas. Here are two video tutorials on how to crochet the flowers and leaves. (the tutorial on the leaves is not in English) There maybe another leaf tutorial you can find in English that could work as well.
Cut a piece of material for lining at 8 2/4 inches long and 5 2/4 inches wide. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise and sew about 1/4 inch on each side of fabric and insert in canvas bag and fold top of lining just below the zipper and sew to canvas bag.
