Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies

Oh So Good Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies

Thanks to my neighbor Mornia who bakes the most amazing chocolate chip cookies; her delicious cookies gave me the urge to bake me some. So I went on a hunt for a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe and found this one. Most recipes will say that nuts are optional, but for me nuts are a must. This recipe called for a cup of nuts but I put in about a cup and a half of nuts. This was my first time using this recipe, so I followed it to the exact (except for the extra nuts and chocolate). I am so pleased at how good they turned out…yummy! I ate more than I needed. It was hard to eat just one. Give them a try, they are so good! Check out my Cookie Board on Pinterest!

Heat oven 375 degrees
Ingredients:
2 sticks of butter (1 cup unsalted)
3/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 pkg of semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts (I used 1 1/2 cup)

Mix all dry goods, flour, salt and baking powder

mix all the dry ingredients together in separate bowl
After mixing the flour and butter add vanilla extract etc

cream butter and sugar together mix well, add eggs and vanilla extract
add mixed dry ingredients and mix
add chocolate and nuts and mix again
scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough on cookie sheet
bake for about 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are golden brown

Now don’t you just love that “owl cup”!!! I bought it at Mardel’s and I love it!

I can never get enough chocolate chip cookies! I usually use walnuts but pecans sound amazing as well.
