Beautiful Crochet Coasters

By Cynthia 19 Comments

Here is an easy but elegant and beautiful crochet coasters .  I love the simplicity of crocheting this; after crocheting one you can basically do them without reading the instructions.  The pattern is gorgeous as is, or as you see I added a color just for fun. Check out this vintage pattern and create these 1893 circle motifs that was reworked by Sandi Marshall.

below are a few snippet instructions in creating these beautiful coasters, check out the pattern

chain 6, slip chain together (I used the magic loop instead),  up 3 stitches (count as first dc), 19 double crochet in circle, total 20

chain 4 up, double crochet in each of the 19 double crochet stitches, with a chain stitch in between each double crochet stitch
slip stitch together and slip stitch over to chain space chain 3 and double crochet, chain 2 and 2 more double crochet, *2 double crochet, chain 2, 2 double crochet around in the chain space around*, join with slip stitch
slip stitch over to chain to space chain 3 up and 6 double crochet and single crochet in first space,

in each chain space,* 7 double crochet stitches and single crochet around*, slip stitch together.

beautiful coasters all in a row

I made a set of coasters in a multi-color cotton yarn

add color to the center and on the edge of the coaster to add a pop of color. Here is a video on how to add color. I blocked them with a steam iron. Make sure that you don’t press down with iron.

I love them, don’t you?

Thank you Cynthia for the crochet coasters. My baby sister saw them, likes them, but does not crochet so she calls her big sister to make them. Thanks again.

I was browsing for coaster patterns and am totally taken by these simple cheerful ones. Thank you so much for the pattern and gorgeous colourways. I’ve been very taken with the fluoro/neon wools this year and these are ideal for a splash of colour.

I am a begginer and would love to do this as christmas gifts. What’s the needle size and yarn size? So i can check my stash. I’ve try to do it with a cooton yarn and 4.25 mm needle but at the end my final row seems too big 🙁 tks for your help.
