Crochet Flower Motif Pattern

By Cynthia 10 Comments

Here is an easy Crochet flower motif pattern that is so adorable. Crochet flower motifs can be used as table decorations for weddings and parties. They can be used for making a bridal bouquet or boutonnieres or as an added element to sewing projects, the list is endless.

So when I am crocheting a flower just because I like it, I know that somewhere along the way it can be useful. I crocheted these purple flowers because one: they seem to be easy and two: they are super cute. I have no purpose at this time for the flowers but one day I know I will.

Supplies:
F hook 3.75mm by Clover
Schachenmayr “Catania” yarn (I love this!)
Scissors
Yarn needle

Abbreviations
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (ss)
Double Crochet (dc)
Treple Crochet (tr)
Contrasting Color (cc)
Main Color (mc)

Pattern

Beginning: With CC (I used yellow), ch 4 or used magic loop. If you use ch 4 method ss in first chain to form loop.
Rnd 1: [sc in loop, ch 5] 6 times, on the last 5 chains join to first sc with ss and cut yarn

Rnd 2: With MC (I used purple), working in loops, [sc, 6 dc, ch1, tr, 6 dc, sc] 6 times, join with ss in first sc of first loop. Weave in all tails

Beautiful! They would look cute on jeans and different colored tees.

Wow Cynthia, I admire people that can crochet like that so much. I’m terrible at trying to read a pattern or more like trying to do what pattern says to do. Have never been good at that. Used to crochet but hands have gotten so bad with arthritis and no strength is hard for me to type on here anymore as my fingers are twisted some, very annoying. Really loved crocheting.
Your flowers are so gorgeous, would sure love to be able to make some. As you said they can be used for so many purposes to make other things more beautiful. I envy you being able to make such pretty objects. I found crocheting to be so satisfying, making things to give or use in home. How long have you been crocheting? One of my sisters in law is a good crocheter, she made a gorgeous dress for our daughter when she was little and she still has it.
Enjoy crocheting your beautiful flowers, love to see them when you’re done. Happy weekend

Hi Jane! Good to here from you!Thank you so much for your kind words! I’ve been crocheting off and on for about 30+ years! When we lived in Massachusetts these two ladies would sit on the porch, one would knit and the other would crochet. I asked the one who crocheted to teach me how. She came over to my house and gave me one lesson and from that day forth I didn’t look back. Crocheting is very relaxing. About 10 years ago I picked up the knitting needles, got every book and video from the library on the subject and taught myself to knit. At the moment it seems that crocheting is the thing to do, but I don’t want to lose the craft of knitting. I need to pick up those knitting needles every once in a while…it is always so nice to hear from you! Have a wonderful weekend!

How did you make the leaves? I didn’t see the directions for them on the page.

Wow, Alysia, I’m sure by this time you have found a way to make the leaves to this pattern. Please forgive me for not responding sooner. I’ve been very busy starting a new business. Just in case you haven’t found a pattern here is on that’s simple like the one I used https://www.pinterest.com/pin/519602875740116867/ Thank you for stopping by!

Just learning to crochet, so not familiar with terms. In the Abbreviations is Treple Crochet (tr), is that the same as the “tc” in Rnd 2?

    Love your flower!

Hi Judy, just found your message in my spam. In Rnd 2 the tc is a misprint it should be treble crochet (tr). Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will correct this. Have a bless day!

Hi, Cynthia! Admiring these flowers and your other patterns. Thank you so much fir sharing the free ones!
You are not on Ravelry? I was hoping I’d find you there to add some of your patterns to my Ravelry favorites and on-site pattern “library”. I hope you’ll consider it someday.
At least I’ve found you! 🙂
