Simple Crochet Hair Bows

Wanna put a smile on your little girls face? Try creating these simple crochet hair bows. They are so easy and quick to create. Before you know it, you will have a dozen made in no time. Give it a try. There are only three stitches that you need to know: chain stitch, double treble stitch and the slip stitch. If you don’t know how to do the double treble stitch,  here is a tutorial on how to do the double treble crochet stitch.

Supplies
yarn (I used Schachenmayr Catania yarn)

You can use what ever size yarn you want, the thicker the yarn the larger the bow will be.
crochet hook
barrette clips or bar pins ( or you can use the bows as a brooch)
scissors
hot glue gun
optional ~ brads or whatever element you choose for decoration

Make a magic loop/circle or you can chain two and use the second chain from hook as your loop.

Simple Crochet Bow Instructions:
right side bow ~ After creating the loop, chain 5, double treble crochet 5x, chain 5, slip stitch to end right side
left side bow ~ chain 5, double treble crochet 5x, chain 5, end with slip stitch and chain 1 to tighten, cut yarn leaving a few inches to wrap center of bow.
With extra yarn wrap the center of the bow and fasten off with a knot in the back of bow. Optional: insert decorative brad or whatever element you choose to use in the middle of bow

Attaching the simple crochet bow onto the barrette clip

Take the flat part of the barrette and wrap it with the same color yarn as the bow. As you can see in the picture below, I took the little piece of metal in the center of the clip out to make it easier for me to wrap yarn around it. This will not only look nice but it help to have a sure grip when attaching the bow with hot glue.

Glue bow on the center of clip and tack ends down with glue. (a little dab will do...don't use to much!)
