Tombow USA and Altenew Blog Hop

By Cynthia 256 Comments

Hello, and Welcome to the Tombow USA and Altenew Blog Hop! We have a great day of inspiration ahead of us. Make sure you leave a comment on all the blogs for the chance to win one of 4 prizes!

Tombow USA and Tombow Blog Hop

I’m excited about sharing with you how to create plant markers with Altenew Garden Grow stamps and Tombow USA products!

Tombow USA and Altenew Blog Hop

Supplies:

Tombow USA and Atenew Blog Hop

Tombow DualBrush Markers
Tombow Recycled Color Pencil #01
Altenew Garden Grow Stamps
Tombow Sand Eraser
Polymer Clay
Craft Wire
Spray Gloss lacquer (protective covering)
Acrylic Paint
Sponge Brush
Stamp Pad
X-Acto Knife
Clay Pots

Instructions for the plant markers:

Take your polymer clay and roll and knead it to make it pliable. Flatten the clay with a rolling pin or brayer about a 1/4 of an inch think.

Cut wire to about 12 inches and bend into u-shape, press the wire on the back of clay, cut small strips of clay, large enough to go across the wire in back to reinforce wire to clay.

Ink your stamps and press it into the clay (don’t press hard). Let dry, and color with Tombow dual brush markers. Bake as instructed on package.

Once the clay is cool. Spray glossy lacquer on the markers to seal them, don’t spray too close and make sure they are laying on a flat surface.

Tombow USA and Altenew Blog Hop

Instructions for the clay pots:

You will need 3 small clay pots and clay tray.  Paint each with your favorite colors using acrylic paints.

Paint a solid color on each pot.

Paint bright colors on the lip of each pot. Paint the tray.

When the paint is dry, write the name of each herb using Tombow Recycled Colored Pencil #01.  Spray the pots and tray with gloss lacquer  to protect the paint and writing, let dry and add soil and herbs.

Tombow USA and Atenew Blog Hop

When crafting with polymer clay, you can make any shape you want for your plant markers. I made this oval shaped one with a hole in it to hang on the wire.
