Who said an angel is only to hang around for Christmas. This beautiful free crochet angel pattern is a cute little pattern to make and have throughout the year! If you can crochet a triangle you can easily make this angel. So let’s give it a try.
Supplies needed:
Crochet hook (depending on the size of the thread)
Yarn of your choice ( the thicker the yarn the larger the angel)
Scissors
Needle for weaving in the ends.

Now let’s create the wings!
Beautiful Free Crochet Angel Pattern (the wings)
Here is a diagram of the wings, along with the written pattern. Crochet 2 wings.
1.) ch 6
2.) 2nd ch from hook, sc, sc in next 3 sts, sl st in last st, ch 1, turn
3.) sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc, ch 4, turn
4.) sc in the 3 ch sts, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, sl st in last st, ch 1 turn
5.) sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts, ch 4, turn
6.) sc in the 3 ch sts, sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, sl st in last st, ch1, turn.
7.) sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 9 sts, ch 4, turn
8.) sc in the 3 ch sts, sc in next 9 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, sl st in last st and fasten off. Leave enough yarn at the end to sew wings on the back of the body. Lightly steam iron the angel to flatten it out.
Add a wooden ball for the head of the angel. Insert yarn or thread through the top of the triangle and through the hole in the wooden ball, to make it tight weave the thread or yarn back up through the hole at the bottom of the wooden ball, give it a little tug and knot it at the end. Braid yarn together to make the arms and sew buttons down her dress.

cynthia, you will appreciate this! I am relatively new to crocheting but your pattern looked easy enough for me. I got to the end of the first row and had several stitches left over. I tried it again and the same thing happened so I thought maybe there was an error or typo on your pattern. I knew there would be comments and thought if there was an error, it would be noted by someone. Everyone’s comments were glowing so I knew it had to be me. I went back and reread your notes. I was working dc as double crochet not decrease! Once I figured that out, everything came out right and it looks beautiful. It pays to read the notes and directions! Thanks so much!

I’m having trouble understanding this part of the pattern. .
Now we are going to put an edge around the Angel. sc down the left side of the angel until you reach the corner of the triangle, stitch, 2 sc, chain 1, 2 sc (keeping hook on loop)
I crocheted to the bottom of the triangle to the corner, but what do I do for the word stitch? And am I crocheting across the bottom of the triangle or? If not, I’ll have nothing to SC into.
